CUET UG 2024 Application Deadline Extended to March 31: NTA Announcement

CUET UG 2024: The National Examinations Authority (NTA) on Tuesday extended the online deadline for the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate Courses (CUET UG 2024), based on requests from students and other interested parties.

As per the revised schedule, candidates can register their application online for the entrance exam until March 31 (9:50 p.m.) at exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/, the official website for admission to CUET UG 2024.

Two more Subject have been added

In another development, the National Examinations Authority announced that, following the advice of UGC and CBSE, the NTA has introduced two additional subjects (fashion and tourism) in the common university entrance test (CUET UG) in 2024 for real-world skills development. Following the recommendations of the NEP.

The NTA added, “Candidates may note that those who have already submitted the online application form for CUET (UG)-2024 can add these courses during the verification process. However, the person who opts for other courses has to pay extra (if at all).”

The entrance exam is scheduled from March 15 to March 31, 2024 (pending). The results will be provisionally announced on June 30, 2024.

Exam Scheme

There will be 33 languages and 29 subjects. The candidate should choose any subject or language of interest to the university or organization. A candidate must answer 40 questions out of 50 in each language test.

Those who teach at universities take the common entrance exam. The candidate must answer 50 questions out of 60 in total.

What’s new in CUET 2024?

Two new courses have been added to the CUET platform: fashion and tourism courses.
The CUET UG 2024 exam will be conducted in mixed mode.
The NTA reduced the number of people tested to sixteen. Students can choose 4 domain subjects, 1 language subject, and 1 placement test, or 3 domain subjects, 2 language subjects, and 1 placement test.
The CUET UG online form will be updated in 2024. To choose three courses, general category candidates need to pay Rs. 1,000, Rs. 900 for OBC-NCL and EWS candidates, and Rs. 900, 800 for SC/ST/third gender candidates who have to submit the CUET form.
The NTA has reduced the number of CUET exam centers to 380. There are currently 354 exam centers in India and 26 exam centers outside India.
The official website of CUET 2024 has been changed to cuetug.ntaonline.in from the previous cuet.samarth.ac.in.
The National Testing Agency usually conducts subject tests on the same day, so processing of NTA scores is not required.

When will the CUET 2024 exam take place?

The National Examinations Authority has announced the CUET 2024 exam date online on the official website of CUET 2024. NTA will conduct the CUET 2024 entrance exam from May 15 to 31, 2024. Candidates are advised to take the CUET 2024 entrance exam. in the online format (Computer Based Test) and subjects in the form of OMR forms with a maximum number of registrations.

Eligibility criteria for CUET 2024

Candidates preparing for CUET 2024 UG must check all CUET admission requirements before applying for CUET UG. Participating institutions determine the eligibility criteria for each program, while the NTA sets the criteria for appearing in the CUET UG exam. A candidate must have passed class 10+2 from a recognized institution to qualify for the CUET exam. The CUET 2024 UG notification will be available on the official website of the university chosen by each candidate.

Minimum age requirement: There is no minimum age for admission to CUET.
Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India to apply for the CUET entrance exam.
Educational qualification: To be eligible to take the CUET entrance exam, candidates must have obtained at least 50% marks in class 10+2 from a recognized institution.
Examinations: Students must have studied one of the following subjects in class 12: Mathematics, Agriculture, Psychology, Art Education, Art, Biology, Business Administration, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics/Business Administration, Graphics Engineering, Commerce, Science of Environment, General Examination, Geography, History, Home Science, Languages, Legal Studies, Mass Media/Public Communication, Mathematics, Arts, Physical Education, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Sanskrit, Sociology, and more.
Qualifying Exam Marks: CUET UG 2024 candidates must have scored at least 50% in the final qualifying exam. A minimum mark of 45% will be required for candidates from the SC, ST, and OBC-NCL categories.
